GIVING TO IFS

At International Friends School, our annual Friends Fund  is the cornerstone of our mission to provide a unique  educational experience. As a Quaker Mandarin immersion  early education to elementary school, the annual fund bridges the gap between tuition and the true cost  of offering a comprehensive education. Your  generous contributions enable us to enhance  our academic programs, invest in essential  resources that benefit both our bright  students and dedicated faculty, and extend  financial aid to children who otherwise would  not access this educational program.

Your contributions, no matter the size, enrich the  lives of our students and educators. We are grateful for  your generous support. Together, all that we envision in a nurturing and globally-minded educational environment is made reality. When we invest in our children’s school, we invest in their futures.

  • IFS accepts credit cards and e-check. Please visit our online giving form to make a secure online donation.

  • Many corporations and foundations offer matching gift programs, allowing donors to double or triple the amount of their contribution. Please consult your benefits coordinator or human resources manager.

  • Many corporations will donate to organizations for every hour that an employee volunteers. Please consult your benefits coordinator or human resources manager.

  • For those who hold DAFs or have a family foundation, distributions and grants can be directed to International Friends School.

  • Gifts of appreciated securities, are welcomed and an opportunity to avoid capital gains taxes. In many (if not most) situations, the full, fair market value of gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, and mutual funds is tax deductible. As always, the particular tax savings depend on individual circumstances and must be discussed with personal financial and tax advisors.

  • Under current law, individuals who are 70 ½ years old or older may use a QCD to donate up to $100,000 to qualified charities directly from an IRA. To learn more, email development@ifschool.org.

  • Deferred or planned gift options (such as a bequest) can help donors make a maximum gift to an organization or capital campaign. The commitment to give is made now, but the gift does not effectively come into the possession of International Friends School until a future date (in most cases upon the death of the donor or the surviving spouse). Advantages to donors of such gifts can include reduction in estate, capital gains, gift, and/or income taxes. It is highly recommended that a donor consult with their financial and legal counsel to determine the best method for conveying a pledge and/or intent to give via an estate gift to IFS.
